Story

Ermolay made violins in a small workshop on the corner. He knew all about wood, varnish and sound, and loved giving presents no one else would ever have.

In January his old friend Foma was celebrating his birthday. Foma was a gentle, tolerant man: he never argued, listened to everyone and could get along with anyone.

In the evening Ermolay put on the same fragrance he had ordered for his friend. Bergamot, mandarin and pepper opened fresh and spicy.

The table was noisy, the guests argued about politics, and Foma, as always, made peace among them. When it came to presents, Ermolay handed him a dark bottle. Saffron, geranium, coriander and juniper unfolded on his skin, warm and noble.

Foma put the fragrance on his wrist and fell silent.

Ermolay, it smells of saffron and pine, restrained and deep. As if you'd described me better than I ever could," Foma said.
All your life you put up with everyone. Let something now be just yours," Ermolay answered.

By night patchouli, resins, labdanum, cedar, pine and a warm golden accord stayed on his skin, deep and calm.

How it smells

The start is fresh and spicy: bergamot and mandarin sound bright, and pepper adds a sharp spark.

In the heart saffron, geranium, coriander and juniper form a warm, noble spicy accord.

In the base patchouli, resins, labdanum, cedar, pine and a warm golden accord leave a deep, calm woody trail.

What makes it special

Tolerantum was created as a personal fragrance to order: a man going to a friend's birthday decided to give him a fragrance of his own in the spirit of Comme des Garçons. The birthday boy is a gentle person, hence the name. It is an oriental, spicy, woody fragrance.

It is worn for quiet dignity: on a winter evening, in a noisy company and beside those you value for their patience.
