Merci pour l'Amor. A Word in Sign
personal fragrance
Story
Flora worked as a sign language interpreter. At concerts and lectures she stood at the side of the stage and translated everything into signs so that everyone in the hall could understand.
Ten years earlier Martin had been beside her. It was he who taught her to step boldly into big halls. Then their paths parted, quietly and without quarrels. She never told him how grateful she was.
On a September evening Flora put Merci pour l'Amor on her wrists. Mandarin, blackcurrant leaves and buds, grapefruit, lychee, lemon verbena, star anise and bergamot opened fresh and tremulous.
At a lecture in the city lecture hall she saw a familiar face in the third row. Tea, rose, peony, lily, lily of the valley, magnolia and lotus unfolded on her skin, tender and thoughtful.
After the lecture Martin came up to her himself.
Flora, you smell of tea and peonies, just like back then. I watched your hands all evening," Martin said.
Flora smiled and signed one word. Then she said it aloud: "Thank you. For all the good you did for me."
They said goodbye warmly, like old friends, and her heart felt light.
By night ambrette, patchouli, vanilla, cinnamon, clove, musk, sandalwood and a warm golden accord stayed on her skin, soft and warm.
How it smells
The start is fresh and tremulous: mandarin, grapefruit and bergamot sound bright, blackcurrant leaves and buds give a green tartness, lychee juiciness, and lemon verbena and anise a fine spice.
In the heart tea, rose, peony, lily, lily of the valley, magnolia and lotus form a tender, thoughtful bouquet.
In the base ambrette, patchouli, vanilla, cinnamon, clove, musk, sandalwood and a warm golden accord leave a soft, warm trail.
What makes it special
Merci pour l'Amor was created as a personal fragrance to order and is called a fragrance of revelation. It is about tremulous, contradictory feelings, when you do not know whether they were mutual. There is no euphoria of love and no butterflies, yet something will not let you forget all the good you lived through, and the heart is full of gratitude for all the kindness a person has done for you in life. It is a floral tea fragrance.
It is worn for gratitude: on a quiet autumn evening, at an unexpected meeting and beside those you have reason to thank.
