Mars. The First Move
personal fragrance
Story
Varfolomey played chess. He was always first: first to arrive at the hall, first to sit at the board and first to move. He did not like fragrances and wore them only on special occasions.
In March came the final of the city championship. Such an occasion.
In the morning Varfolomey put Mars on his wrists. Freshly cut grass, basil, guava, anise and caraway opened fresh and composed.
The game was in its fifth hour. His opponent had the higher rating, the hall fell silent, the clock ticked. Varfolomey sat motionless and thought, allowing himself not a single unnecessary movement. Nutmeg, clary sage, clove, white lily, cinnamon, lavender, galbanum, thyme and rosemary unfolded on his skin, herbal and spicy.
In the sixth hour he found a move no one expected. Ten minutes later his opponent offered his hand.
The arbiter Pimen came over to congratulate him.
Varfolomey, you smell of herbs and spices, as fresh as in the first minute of the game. Six hours, and you look as if you'd just sat down," Pimen said.
I simply knew what I wanted," Varfolomey answered.
By evening white cedar, sandalwood, cashmeran, costus, vanilla, musk and oakmoss stayed on his skin, calm and strong.
How it smells
The start is fresh and composed: cut grass and basil sound green, guava adds a light juiciness, anise and caraway a spicy spark.
In the heart clary sage, lavender, thyme, rosemary and galbanum give a herbal coolness, nutmeg, clove and cinnamon a warm spice, and white lily a light bright shade.
In the base white cedar, sandalwood, cashmeran, costus, vanilla, musk and oakmoss leave a calm, strong trail.
What makes it special
Mars was created as a personal fragrance to order and was not born easily, after eight versions. It was to contain no citrus, flowers, fruit, sea, sweets or vintage notes, so the range narrowed to freshness, herbs and light spices. Especially precious was the praise of a man who does not like fragrances at all. Mars is always first: the one who acts and achieves. The fragrance embodies great will, energy, drive, courage, determination and self-control.
It is worn for willpower: on the day of a decisive match, in work that demands composure and wherever it matters to be first.
