Universe. The Celestial Globe

Olfactorium

At the entrance to the planetarium's star hall stood a brass celestial globe. Constellations were engraved on it, and over the years visitors' fingers had rubbed the brightest stars to a shine. Feofan began every lecture with it.

Feofan had worked as a planetarium lecturer for twelve years. He knew every constellation by heart, but most of all he loved telling people that there are things in space you can smell.

In December the first snow fell. In the evening Feofan put Universe on his wrists, and raspberry sounded bright and juicy, as if the berries had just been picked from the bush.

The hall filled with visitors. Feofan turned the globe, pointed out Orion and asked for the lights to go off. Stars lit up across the dome. By then [a raspberry steeped into a deep dark sweetness] had opened on his skin, rich and velvety.

"Astronomers were searching space for the building blocks of life. In gas clouds they found molecules that smell of raspberries," Feofan told the audience.

After the lecture he went up to the projection room. There, by the star projector, sat Agrippina, the planetarium's operator, who switched on the starry sky for the hall every evening.

"Feofan, the hall smells of raspberries right up to the dome. Are those your clouds?" Agrippina asked.

"They are," Feofan smiled.

By night [a warm cane note, dark as the sky above the dome] remained on his skin. Feofan ran his palm over the globe and switched off the light at the entrance to the hall.

How it sounds

The opening is bright and juicy: raspberry sounds fresh and sweet, like a ripe berry.

In the heart [a raspberry steeped into a deep dark sweetness] makes the fragrance dense, velvety and tart.

In the base [a warm cane note] leaves a deep warm trail for the cold season.

What makes it special

Universe belongs to the Olfactorium collection. It was inspired by the story of astronomers who used a radio telescope to search space for amino acids, the basis of life. They did not find them. Instead, in the gas clouds of the Universe they found molecules of a substance that smells of raspberries. So a composition appeared that lets you dream of space at any time and in any place. It is a unisex fruity sweet fragrance for autumn and winter.

tastylooks writes on her blog: "The fragrance is dense, tart, rich. Delicious, deep, immersive."

Parfmaniak iz provintsii on Dzen notes: "It all seems very simple, yet the fragrance sounds stunning, I have never come across anything like it!"

People wear it for a dream of the stars: on a winter evening, on a walk in the snow and on a long night with clear stars.
