Mstislav's last volley was always the same: the golden rain. The lights rose above the garden, scattered and slowly fell in long golden threads. For that minute the guests came to the old manor every June.

Mstislav had worked as a pyrotechnician for twenty years. He assembled every volley himself and knew how many seconds each spark would burn.

On the day of the celebration the weather was warm. In the evening Mstislav put Lambrusco on his wrists, and kiwi, green apple, bergamot, lemon and red berries sounded juicy and cheerful, pink pepper added a spark, and [festive bubbles, ringing like the guests' laughter] played right in the opening.

While the guests strolled through the garden and listened to music on the open terrace, Mstislav set out the charges at the end of a long avenue beyond the garden. By then rhubarb, jasmine, cyclamen, violet, rose and lilac had opened on his skin, and [a tart ruby berry depth] made the bouquet richer.

Before the fireworks Varvara, the hostess of the manor and the celebration, came down to him.

"Mstislav, you smell as if the celebration has already begun. May we?" Varvara asked.

"We may," Mstislav smiled and lit the first fuse.

Lights soared above the garden, the guests on the terrace gasped, and at the very end the golden rain slowly poured down over the avenue.

By night lemon wood, sandalwood, styrax and musk remained on his skin, warm and soft. Mstislav gathered the empty casings and for a long time looked at the dark avenue, above which the stars were coming out.

How it sounds

The opening is bright and sparkling: kiwi, green apple, bergamot, lemon and red berries sound juicy, pink pepper adds a light spice, peach softness, and [festive bubbles] make the opening ring.

In the heart [a tart ruby berry depth] meets rhubarb, which gives a herbal tartness. Jasmine, cyclamen, violet, rose, lilac and ylang-ylang form a fresh, slightly powdery bouquet.

In the base lemon wood, sandalwood, styrax and musk with a warm golden accord leave a warm, soft trail.

What makes it special

Lambrusco belongs to the Olfactorium collection. The brand describes it as a fragrance that plays and sparkles with merry bubbles and delights with tart spicy notes, a kind of "accord of luxury". It offers shades of juicy fruit and awakens memories of joyful sunny days. It is a unisex floral fruity fragrance for spring and summer.

Favorova L. writes: "I smell a fruit market in some hot country where you spend a long-awaited holiday."

Katerina Berger on Fragrantica notes: "There is a light boldness and fervour in it, and tenderness too."

The author of the Telegram channel "Dukhi kak terapiya" writes: "Rhubarb gives a herbal tartness. Ylang brings a little powder."

People wear it for celebration: on a summer evening, in a garden with friends and on a day when there is something to celebrate.
