Theme Cedre. The Rear-View Mirror

Dina adjusted the rear-view mirror yet again, though it was already straight. She was in her first month as a driving instructor and spent every lesson with her foot hovering over her own brake pedal.
May was clear. Puddles were drying on the training ground, chestnuts were blooming along the road to the track, and students came to lessons in light jackets.
That morning Dina put Theme Cedre on her wrists. Lime and mint sounded cool and clear, and she suddenly noticed she was breathing more evenly.
By lunchtime ginger and cedar had opened on her skin, dry and bright. Dina sat straight, spoke briefly and calmly, and for the first time in a lesson took her foot off the pedal.
Her last student that day was Sveta, a university student who was afraid of crossroads. She sat at the wheel, gripped it with both hands and froze.
"Your car smells like the mountains after rain. It makes it easier," Sveta said, and breathed out. Dina smiled and suggested she choose the route herself.
They drove across the whole district: two crossroads, a roundabout and a narrow courtyard. By evening tonka and amber remained on Dina's skin, warm and soft, and Sveta did not slip once.
Outside the driving school Dina turned the rear-view mirror towards her student. Sveta saw her own face in it and laughed.
How it sounds
The opening is brisk and transparent: lime and juicy orange splash with freshness, and mint cools them and makes the start ring.
At the heart the scent warms: ginger adds a warm spark, cedar sounds dry and bright, and vetiver brings a light haze.
In the base patchouli leads into shade, and tonka and amber leave a warm, soft woody trail on the skin.
What makes it special
Theme Cedre belongs to the Olfactorium collection and to the Fragrance Theme series, conceived as a set of études, each revealing one theme. Here the theme is cedar: a brisk, transparent, composed scent of a coniferous forest after rain.
