Story
Karina was a choirmaster. For three years she had been preparing a children's choir for a major competition: she learned every note with the children, caught a false note from the first sound and believed in them more than they believed in themselves.
In April the day of the competition came.
In the morning Karina put on her favourite fragrance. Coffee, aldehydes, mandarin, lemon, cardamom, coriander, cyclamen, bergamot, blackcurrant, green leaves, cassia and nectarine opened bright and lively, like a first chord.
The choir came on stage. Thirty children's voices rang out so clearly and in such harmony that the hall fell silent. On the last chord Karina caught her breath. Hyacinth, ginger, rosehip, iris, magnolia, jasmine, violet, orange blossom, rose, peony, freesia, neroli, lily of the valley, pink and black pepper unfolded on her skin, hot and joyful.
The hall burst into applause. The children rushed to hug her.
The accompanist Valeriy came up last.
Karina, you smell of coffee and peonies, and your face right now is so happy I'll never forget it," Valeriy said.
That's the best sound of my life. It was worth three years of work," Karina answered, laughing and wiping her eyes.
The choir took first place.
By night tangerine wood, clove, cedar, patchouli, vetiver, sandalwood, teak, vanilla, musk and a warm golden accord stayed on her skin, warm and deep.
How it smells
The start is bright and lively: coffee and aldehydes give a spark, mandarin, lemon and bergamot light, cardamom, coriander and cassia spice, and currant and nectarine juiciness.
In the heart hyacinth, iris, magnolia, jasmine, violet, orange blossom, rose, peony, freesia and lily of the valley form a lush bouquet, while ginger, rosehip, pink and black pepper add a hot spice.
In the base tangerine wood, clove, cedar, patchouli, vetiver, sandalwood, teak, vanilla, musk and a warm golden accord leave a warm, deep trail.
What makes it special
This was created as a personal fragrance to order and was born of delight. At first it was simply shown to friends, and one young woman, having tried it, was so thrilled that she suggested its name herself. Years later she wrote that it was the best fragrance of her life. Tenderness, in her words, is not what it is about: it is a passionate, bright fragrance full of joy.
It is worn for delight: on the day of a big victory, at a celebration and beside those who rejoice with you.
