Amber Rouge. The Camera on a Strap

Rimma slung the camera strap over her shoulder and went down to the promenade. For ten years she had photographed holidaymakers, weddings and graduates here, and in all that time she had not appeared in a single one of her own pictures.
September was warm. The resort town was tired of the summer crowds, the last pleasure boats glided over the water, and the sun sank towards the sea slowly, as if reluctantly.
Before going out Rimma put Amber Rouge on her wrists. Vanilla and ambrette sounded soft and warm, and for the first time in ages she put on a red dress instead of her usual jeans.
By six rose and peony had opened on her skin, deep and velvety. A newly married couple came for their shoot, and instead of hiding behind the lens Rimma laughed with them and showed them where to stand.
The bride adjusted her veil and turned to her. The sea wind caught the hem of her dress, and Rimma caught the shot.
"You smell wonderful. Warm, like this sunset," the bride said. The groom nodded and offered to photograph Rimma against the sea.
By sunset sandalwood and tonka remained on her skin, sweet and enveloping. The sky over the water turned pinkish grey, and the first lamps came on along the promenade.
Rimma lifted the strap from her shoulder and handed the camera to the groom. Then she walked to the railing and looked straight into the lens.
How it sounds
The opening is soft and warm: ambrette sounds musky and slightly nutty, and vanilla at once wraps it in tender sweetness.
At the heart rose and peony open, deep and velvety, heliotrope adds a powdery vanilla softness, ebony wood gives a noble dark depth, and resins make the sound dense and spicy.
In the base Tahitian vanilla, tonka and sandalwood give a warm creamy sweetness, patchouli and amber deepen it, and musk keeps the scent close to the skin for long hours.
What makes it special
Amber Rouge, "Red Amber", belongs to the private Chilini Private collection, whose fragrances are made from expensive and rare ingredients and take a long time to mature. Its image is an evening in a seaside town: the last strip of sun over the sea, pinkish-grey colours and the rustle of elegant dresses on an evening walk. A gourmand amber women's fragrance for spring, autumn and winter.
"An ode to the colour red! Red lipstick and a floor-length red dress… and red flashes of sunset over the sea," writes a reviewer on Fragrantica. Another notes there: "I loved its warmth and cosiness. And it is very feminine, it brings a smile and peace."
MyCharm calls it "bright, rich, saturated, expressive, refined and dazzling". On Instagram: "I hear an alluring, languid vanilla, framed at the edges by tender rose and evening peony."
People wear it for warmth: when they want to wrap themselves in evening sun, velvety flowers and sweet vanilla.
